Dangerous Jobs
February 21, 2010 9:46 pm 152For my job at our local Department of Transportation office, one of my duties is to replace any flowmeter than goes bad in road culverts. When I first took this job, that wasn’t a big deal. Yet, now that we are having record snowfall amounts I am a little concerned. Once the four feet of snow currently on the ground melts, these culverts will flood. Some, according to the other workers, have been know to fill up over six feet deep. I like my job, but not enough to go down into a flooded culvert and change equipment. It’s too dangerous and they do not pay me enough.
