Choosing Lighting Control Keypads

These vary from simple keypads labelled Scenes 1 through to 4 and off and go through to huge touch panels which allow you to see bar graphs of your light settings and manuall adjust scenes to your liking. The likes of Lutron and Crestron go one step beyond the humble keypad – Lutron’s offerings are extremely stylish and beautiful keypads with high end finishes such as brass, bronze, stainless stell or brushed chrome. Crestron’s offerings have the same luxury finishes and, in our view the clincher, they allow you to engrave your buttons.
This keypad engraving enables us to install a 6 button keypad and label keys with activities, even adding a button to switch on other rooms or areas. This engraving ensures the system is a doddle to use – even guests will be able to tell which button to press. Crestron lighting keypads even contain additions like light sensors which enable us to build custom logic in response to light levels – so you use less lights and therefore use less energy!
