Salvage Usable Parts
August 8, 2011 3:11 am AutomotiveWrecking yard employees start to salvage the usable parts of the vehicles that are brought in by a wrecker. These usable car parts are sometimes refurbished to be able to fetch a high resale price or sometimes they are soled “as is-where is” which means they are put up for sale whatever their condition was when they were salvaged and they were never repaired nor refurbished. When a vehicle has been smashed very badly and has been declared by the insurance company as a total wreck or a total loss, the wrecking yard automatically assumes ownership of the wrecked vehicle and starts looking for salvageable parts, car parts that can still be used and sold. The remaining metal parts are then sold to scrap metal warehouses which in turn recycle these metals which are again used to build cars and other materials that require the use of metal.
