Packing Our Stuff

We spent the day today packing. My family and I are about to move to Costa Rica, where we’ve bought an apartotel costa rica. We’ve sold or given away most of our things, but there are a few things that we’re taking with us or putting in storage. My brother-in-law said that we can store some of our stuff in his attic, which we’re doing. I’m a little bit sad while I’m packing because we’ve had so many wonderful memories here, but I know that we have an even better future ahead of us. Packing is hard, but I am happier than I’ve ever been.

Skiing by the Bay

If winter sports wasn’t already a big hit at our house, it would have been after our trip to Maine this past weekend. Snow covered hills offer a variety of outdoor activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, and other chilly adventures.  We found out that quite a few of the Maine hotels offer winter discounted rates along with some activity packages. The Ledges By The Bay in Rockport offered some very affordable winter accommodations and we decided to make reservations with them. We took the whole family along for the trip and went skiing at the Camden Snow Bowl in Camden, Maine. My younger children enjoyed sledding and skating while the teenagers did some cross-country skiing.  I did venture out on the slopes once, but for the most part, I enjoyed being warm and cozy by the fireplace in our suite.  We will definitely be back here next year.

So many of our friends have taken wonderful family vacations, that I was actually feeling pretty left out of the fun. I knew that my little family would enjoy such a wonderful get away as well as anybody else. I just never figured that we could afford such a vacation trip. What is Public Transport Like in Ireland?

I am planning to take a trip to Ireland, so I am researching what it is like there so I know what expenses to plan for. Can anyone tell me what the public transport system is like there, and what areas are covered by this system? I am trying to figure out whether I will need to plan for car rental in Ireland, or whether I would be better off using public transport. I don’t always like to drive in places I am not familiar with, but I also don’t want to have to spend a ton of money on taxis.

Vacationing in Martinborough

Recently, my extended family decided to vacation together for a family reunion. The destination was an arguable topic for several weeks. Finally, we decided on Martinborough, New Zealand. This beautiful escape is known for something very precious in my family: wine! So we rented out tone of the Martinborough Holiday Homes and made a week vacation of it! The accommodations were beautiful and we had the time of our life in a place we have never been before. We visited several vineyards and were able to spend time together in a non-stressful environment. I will never forget that vacation and I hope to go back soon!
