Having No Groceries Is Not An Option With Kids
June 19, 2010 5:15 am FinanceOne week I was very ill with a stomach virus as was both of my two kids. Since I am a single mom, missing those 3 days of work really hurt on my next paycheck. It came down to paying the light bill or buying groceries, Since you can’t do without lights in the winter time when you have an electric central unit, I paid the light bill. I might have been able to have applied for some kind of emergency assistance temporarily, but even that would have taken days or longer to get and I didn’t have that much time. Anyway, I have never been much on asking for charity.
I did come up with a solution. I got a no fax payday loan on line and it got the cabinets filled with plenty of groceries until I got my next full paycheck. Charity might be an option some times if you have to do it, but borrowing and paying the money back is a lot more gratifying and less painful to your pride.
