Side effect of birth control pills

My husband does not prefer to use contraceptive protection and thus I few times faced problem of undesired pregnancy. Thus few months back I started taking birth control pills. I was not aware that these pills were full of drugs which are harmful for long term use. But I was taking these drugs almost once a week. These drugs started showing its effects few months back in form of hair loss. I came to know that hair loss was the effect of birth control pills from the doctor. I discontinued taking pills and my hair loss treatment was started to control the hairs problem. Now I never take birth control pills.
