November 25, 2010 11:48 pm Health and FitnessJaw pain is a painful experience and there are lots of people who might mistake it as a severe migraine and will take any pain reliever not knowing the dangers that comes with self-medication. Doctors and health care specialists have been warning about this practice because of the severe consequences wrong medication will bring to a person.
For the case of jaw pain there is what they call TMJ, which stands for temporomandibular joint. This connects the lower jaw to the temporal bone which is located at the side of the head. TMJ helps us when we speak, chew and yawn too. When tmj malfunctions there are lots of discomforts that a person goes through such as: ringing in the ears, visual disturbances, dizziness, depression, shoulder pain and back pain to mention a few.
A person who may have been taking some medications to relieve the pain they have on their jaw and still have continuously felt pain, should already consult the doctor or a dentist, to find out what is going on, what to expect, what could be done about the condition. Professional opinions are better than self medicating oneself complicating things more and worsening the condition as well.
